Verde Valley Railroad

We took this most fantastic train ride back in time. It ran for 18 miles thru the Verde canyon which follows the Verde River. Makes sense.

Couldn't have a train ride without a long slow bend so everyone could see each other.

Going thru the old tunnel.

This is one of two GE diesel electric engines that was purchased from the Alaskan railroad that pull us along. Here he is actually coming forward to pull us back.

This is the finger rock. Which one is your choice.

Two coyotes howling at the moon.

Well preserved cliff dwelling.

A vandalized dwelling. The window was broken out to in search of artifacts.
