Rafting the Glen Canyon Gorge
Well we decided to raft the Colorado River from the Glen Canyon Dam to Lee's Ferry. This is just below the Glen Canyon Dam the newest of the dams on the Colorado river. It was completed in 1965.
This fine Gentleman greeted us at 6 AM on the east park road.
Just boarded the boat. This is the dam holding back 200 miles of water.
The view down the river below the dam.
2 mile tunnel to get to the dam was dug in this wall. Took 2 years.
Stain created over time by a waterfall.
Packman image on the wall.
Another finger rock. Powell mentioned this in his records.
