Palatki Heritage Site

 This was by far once of the most interesting sites in the Sedona area.
You have to make a reservation and drive a dirt road for about 6 miles to get there. Reminded us of Alaskan turnpike. It's well worth it hope you enjoy the pictures.

Some of the Petroglyphs that are over 2,000 years old.




If you look at the top left corner you'll see a squiggly line with a Sun burst. They think that represents the growing calendar. Base upon the sun position over the peaks in the picture below.  the fact there are only 8 peaks coincides with winter.
