Observations so far
We've made it to Winslow, AZ and have slowed down.
Things we've seen so far on the trip.
Missouri is a roller coaster of hills after Indiana and Illinois. I thought it was flatter. Boy was I wrong. Cost me 2 mpg on the fuel mileage.
In Eastern Oklahoma and North Texas area are wind turbines for a far as you can see. Must be thousands of them. Replaced the oil derricks.
The climb out of Oklahoma to New Mexico really sneaks up on you. We're now at 5,300' above sea level.
The long slow grades in New Mexico really worked the cooling package on the Cat. Well within her capabilities but she ran a good 15 degrees hotter on those climbs.
Living by my rule that the world is always in balance. The East Coast has the horrible humidity and the South West has none. We feel sorry for you at home.
The combination of the altitude and low humidity is taking some adjustments. We need to drink a lot more water and I had to take some Tylenol for a headache.
We met up with JJ and Janice in Albuquerque Wednesday night. We greeted with hugs and a glass of wine. Made us a great Chicken tossed salad for dinner. We couldn't have asked for more or gotten better any place on the earth. Great friends!
The parts Mgr. Rick from FYDA came thru and the new parts were here when we arrived. Put them on last night. Had to cut the wire tie off!
