On The Road Again... Goin Places I have never Been...Seeing Things That I may never see Again

Well we're at it again! We just can't sing as well as Willie Nelson.

This trip is all about the South Western United States. We might be lucky enough to find the road  in the picture above. Wouldn't that be cool!

Our first real stop will be in Winslow, AZ on Joanne's Birthday Aug 31. In the area is the Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, and of course the intersection the Eagles made famous in "Standing on the Corner in Winslow AZ". Hope to raise a glass to them as they are one of our favorite groups.

Our next stop will be Sedona, then South Rim of the Grand Canon, then Lake Mead for the Hoover Dam and a Cir De Sole show in Las Vegas. From there we move on to Zion, Grand Canyon North Rim, Bryce National Park / Kodachrome Basin State Park, Capital Reef National Park, Arches National / Canyonlands National Park, South Fork of Mule Canyon House on Fire, Mesa Verde National Park, Silvertown / Ouray, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Rocky Mountain National Park.

All told 9 weeks 10,000 miles. Sounds like a lot but 5,000 of those miles are just coming to and getting back in about 9 days.

We're really looking forward to this trip. It should be easier than the Alaska 2014 trip. The roads should be much easier on us. Technology should be mostly available through out the trip.

I promise to do my best to post daily during our stops
but then again the fun might keep us out later than  usual.

We'll miss you all!

We went into the park again today. I am so glad we're here for 3 full days. The trails and views are magnificent. Almost to the narrows. Falcon above the ridge. Joanne with erosion  as a backdrop. The Virgin River cutting away! Just two great shots of Joanne with the river and cuts. It was so beautiful. The Virgin river cutting thru the canyon. You can see the tan stone that broke away. It is "new" to the eye. The dark stone is "old" stone it is covered in desert varnish. Mother natures parallel lines a few million years apart. OMG Just another view that takes your breath away. Moving Day on to Capital Reef

We woke up to rain. First time in a long time.  We're glad it isn't snow and hope it isn't snowing in the mountains over near Capital Reef. We have one summit along the way that's 9,600 feet so it might be snowing up there.  Still raining up on the Hog Back but a little road work. In PA you worry about deer. In Utah you worry about "Open Range" cattle. Take it easy partner.

Zion

Went to dinner last night at the Zion Canyon Brew Pub. Jack and Nancy where there and recommended it. Great place thanks. This was the view from the back deck. Got JJ tire replaced. This is what the old one looked like. Momma mule deer and her 2 babies greeted  us. This overhang has to be 150'  This is Jacob Peak from the Court of the Patriarchs.
