Oh That Murphy!!
We've Spent The Last 2 nights on the Road!
The trip got off better than expected. Oh that Murphy! You know the one that say" If anything can go wrong it will go wrong at the most inopportune time".
Not far down the PA turnpike we broke the bushing on the leveling control arm for the left front air bag. OMG...not to be deterred the infamous wire tie. As we sit tonight that wire tie has lasted 1,500 miles.
Oh a little later I get a "dinging" that might indicate a transmission fault. Found a freightliner dealer in Zanesville, OH. Yes they took a poor traveler in. Everything checked out perfect...but the ding. A little google searching and a few people have had trouble with the Airbrake Interlock Relay failing. Pulled the dash out while driving around their parking lot with the Tech (Wes) and found/disconnected that little bell. Got YA! Oh Ya ordered two leveling control arms to meet up with us in Winslow, AZ.
Hats off to FYDA Freightliner!
Chris/Rick/Wes you are the best!
So both days we maintain/bettered our schedule by 60 miles per day. Today we made the big run 671 miles to Oklahoma City . So we could go easy Wednesday and meet JJ/Janice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Than we sloooooooow way down.
We are in our first campground tonight...really a resort. it was dark when we got here so I'll take a picture tomorrow and post it.
